Bramble Berry Juicy Fruits Lip Gloss Project

INGREDIENTS:

    Lip Gloss Base - 4 oz
    Lip Gloss Tube with Wand - 10
    Cherry Slushie Flavor Oil - Trial Size
    Strawberry Soda Flavor Oil - Trial Size
    Squalane Oil - 1 oz
    Merlot Sparkle Mica - 1 oz
    Magenta Mica - 1 oz

EQUIPMENT:

    Plastic Syringe - 2 oz - 1

Instructions
You will need:

    10 Lip Gloss Tubes
    4 oz Lip Gloss Base
    Plastic syringe
    Trial Size Cherry Slushie Flavor Oil
    Trial Size Strawberry Soda Flavor Oil
    4 oz Squalane Oil
    Merlot Sparkle Mica
    Magenta Mica

Follow these steps:

Empty the entire tub of Lip Gloss Base into a container. Note: the base is very thick as-is. Don’t worry, we will be thinning it in the next step!

Add .75 ounces of Squalane Oil to help thin out the thick base. You can continue to add oil (up to a 30% usage rate) if you still find the base to be too thick. Mix thoroughly until you reach a workable consistency.

If you’re creating both cherry & strawberry lip glosses, separate your base and oil mixture into two containers. If you’re just creating one type, skip this step.

Using a dropper, add 1.5 mL of each flavor to each container (or 3 mL to the entire batch)

Using a mini mixer. disperse ½ teaspoon of Merlot Sparkle Mica into 1 teaspoon of squalane oil. If you’re doing a second color, disperse ½ teaspoon of Magenta Mica into 1 teaspoon of squalane oil. Doing this helps prevent clumps of mica for smooth, even color.

Pour all of the dispersed mica into the lip gloss base & squalane mixture. Stir thoroughly to combine.

Prepare your syringes by removing the cap and inserting the tip into the lip gloss mixture. Slowly pull back the plunger, this will create a vacuum and suck up the thick gloss.

Wipe and insert the tip of the syringe into the tube and slowly push down the plunger. If you’re experiencing air pockets that prevent the lip gloss from reaching the bottom of the tube, stop and shake or tap the tubes. This should help force the product to the bottom, allowing you to continue filling evenly.

Fill each tube until your lip gloss is around a half-inch from the top. Do not fill all the way, or it will be difficult to insert the applicator.

Twist on the applicator cap and you’re done! These lip glosses are ready to use right away.
