L.A. Burdick Chocolates Chocolate-Enrobed Caramels

Our caramels are slow-cooked in copper pots, then hand-poured and hand-cut with meticulous care. Each piece is enrobed in our signature house-blend chocolate. Their remarkably rich flavor and velvety smoothness come from exacting craftsmanship and exceptional ingredients, beginning with fresh, glass-bottled cream from a beloved third-generation family farm in New Hampshire, just miles from our kitchen.

All of our varied, tender caramel flavors begin in one place — inside of enormously wide demi-sphere, copper confectioner’s kettles. Our battle-scarred copper kettles are objects of expert craftmanship, testaments to structural integrity and true antiques. Popularized in North America in the 1800s for apple butter and cheese-making, this type of kettle soon became the candy makers’ cooking pot of choice. Incredible, even heat distribution, combined with the wide shape aiding evaporation and two oversized handles for carrying and pouring, make them perfect for cooking our luscious caramels.

Our copper caramel kettles are burnished from decades of daily use and slightly battered with tiny dings and dents. With handles rubbed to a smooth patina from generations of cooks gripping them through cloth, their blemishes only heighten their glorious beauty.

All our gourmet chocolates and pastries are made with only natural ingredients and without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
